Class Format
Our 2024 format utilizes 4 run groups resulting in maximum track time. All drivers are classified according to experience. For first time BINGE drivers, be sure to provide a summary of your experience to us via email or msreg, before you register for an event. During the event day, groups rotate sessions on track every 25 minutes. And, every BINGE Track Days track event has a open track session in the final hour of the day. Our normal event schedule provides for about 3.5 hours time on track PER DAY.
Run Group Details:
NOVICE: Entry-level drivers who will have an assigned group of 3-5 with an instructor providing coaching. This coaching includes a lead-follow session the first session of each day to help you see the track and learn the line. The instructor will make themselves available for questions, advice and teach you basic driver technique. We do not require instructors to ride with Novice Drivers, but they may choose to. You may also request the instructor drive your car. An experienced driver that may be visiting an unfamiliar track will drive in the novice group until safely oriented to the new track. Passing rules in the novice group require a point-by signal, and passing zones are restricted to straightaways only.
INTERMEDIATE 1: Intermediate 1 drivers that have above beginner level experience (5-15+ track days). Drivers at this level have visited several different road courses, and have received numerous days of in-car coaching/on-track instruction. The driver has already satisfied minimum requirements with well-established programs like BINGE. Passing requires a point-by signal, and passing zones are unrestricted. Passing on straights is recommended and preferred.
INTERMEDIATE 2: Intermediate 2 drivers that have substantial experience (10-25+ track days). Drivers at this level have visited several different road courses, and have received numerous days of in-car coaching/on-track instruction. The driver has already satisfied minimum requirements with well-established programs like BINGE. Passing requires a point-by signal, and passing zones are unrestricted. Advanced drivers with off-pace vehicles are welcome to drive Intermediate 2.
ADVANCED: Our top classification includes drivers with years of experience and thousands of laps (typically 50+ track days at a minimum) at numerous different tracks. The driver's road course skills and traffic management are now instinctive, and the driver has superior situational awareness. Drivers at this level are comfortable with side-by-side conditions, passing anywhere on track, driving off-line, and promptly yielding to faster traffic. Qualification for the advanced group of BINGE Track Days requires an on-track driver evaluation or extensive proven driving history. Passing DOES NOT REQUIRE POINT BY (but we strongly encourage it), and passing zones are unrestricted. We will demote drivers we deem unfit to drive in advanced. Competition license drivers are welcome and encouraged in this group.
(Certain open wheel vehicles may be allowed in Advanced.)
